Nuevos ataques rusos contra infraestructura eléctrica en Ucrania
Más de un millón de hogares en el centro y sur del país están sin luz, debido a los nuevos ataques rusos contra infraestructura clave y fuentes de energía en Ucrania. El presidente ucraniano, Volodímir Zelenski, acusa a Rusia de planear la destrucción de una presa hidroeléctrica vital en la región ocupada de Jersón, y afirma que cientos de miles de personas corren peligro de inundación si se destruye la presa. Zelenski también alerta de una nueva ola de refugiados debido a los ataques rusos contra la población civil.

A video posted on Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov’s Telegram channel shows three Ukrainian Prisoners of War (POWs) being brought to Grozny. Kadyrov announced on his Telegram channel that the decision to bring the POWs was made by his children.
Earlier, the Chechen state TV channel had released a report showing Ramzan's minor sons in a trench. The Chechen leader’s three teenage sons have earlier featured in several videos, visiting the Donbas region in Ukraine
On October 3, the Chechen leader had announced that his three underage sons were preparing to be sent to Ukraine. Kadyrov, a close ally of Putin, has been one of the most outspoken supporters of Russia and its invasion of Ukraine.
Blackouts in parts of Ukraine, Kherson residents evacuations
Hundreds of thousands of people in central and western Ukraine are without power after Russia carried out massive drone and missile attacks, as intense fighting continues in the southeastern region of Luhansk, Donetsk and Kherson where Russia has been struggling to stop renewed Ukrainian advances.
Russian occupation authorities in the city of Kherson have warned civilians to leave “immediately”, as Ukrainian forces advance on the city in what is expected to be a major confrontation.

Zelensky accuses Russia of plot to blow up Kakhovka dam - BBC News
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of preparing to blow up a dam at a hydroelectric plant in southern Ukraine, which would lead to a "large-scale disaster".
In his overnight address, Mr Zelensky said the Kakhovka dam on the Dnieper river had been mined by Russian forces, according to Ukrainian information.
The dam is under Russian occupation, but Ukrainian forces are closing in.
Russia has already accused Ukraine of firing missiles at the Kakhovka dam.
Ancient rock carvings discovered in Iraq - BBC News
Archaeologists have unearthed 2,700-year-old rock carvings in Iraq.
An excavation team had been working to reconstruct the ancient Mashki Gate, which Islamic State (IS) militants destroyed in 2016.
The eight marble relics show finely chiselled war scenes, grape vines and palm trees and date back to the Assyrian King Sennacherib, who ruled the ancient city of Nineveh from 705 to 681 BC.
The archaeologists are working to restore the Mashki Gate site to how it was before IS bulldozed it.
