Former UK PM Boris Johnson has said Germany wanted Ukraine to "fold" quickly if Russia invaded. Johnson told CNN Portugal that Berlin wanted the situation resolved "quickly", due to “all sorts of sound economic reasons”. The former UK PM also had sharp words for Paris and Rome, claiming that France was "in denial right up until the last moment". French President Emmanuel Macron was one of the few Western leaders who was in direct contact with Putin even after the invasion began. Johnson also said that the Italians said that they wouldn’t be able support West’s position against Russia. However, Germany has angrily dismissed claims made by Boris Johnson regarding the Ukraine war.
